The Three Core Components

1. The Foundation (Matric/SSC): Usually carries the least weight (10-15%), but acts as a safety net.
2. The Bridge (Intermediate/HSSC): Carries moderate weight (15-40%). Many universities use Part-1 marks if Part-2 results are pending.
3. The Decider (Entry Test): This is where most students win or lose. With a weightage of up to 75%, a high score here is the single most important factor for success.

Expert Admission Tactics

• The 75% Rule: For universities like NUST, your NET score is 7.5x more important than your Matric marks. If your academic record is average, focus 90% of your energy on the entry test.
• Medical Merit (MDCAT): For medical colleges, the weightage is often split 50/50 between MDCAT and Intermediate. This requires a very high score in both to secure a seat in a government college.
