It's Unicode, Not a Font

This is the key thing to understand: the tool does not install a font or change your device's typeface. Instead it inserts a special unicode combining character after each letter. The combining long-stroke overlay (U+0336) tells any unicode-aware app to draw a horizontal line through the character before it. Because the strike is encoded into the characters themselves, the effect is "sticky" — it travels with the text when you copy and paste it into a completely different app, with no styling needed on the receiving end. That's why it works in places that have no bold, italic, or strikethrough buttons at all.

Three Strike Styles

Rendering depends on the font and unicode support of the app you paste into, so a quick reality check helps:

• Mostly fine: email and most word processors, though some may align the line a hair high or low depending on the font.
• Avoid for: code, usernames in login forms, search boxes, and any field that strips or rejects non-standard characters — the hidden combining marks can break validation or make text un-searchable.

Tips for Clean Results
