- Level 22+ — Eagle eye. Elite color acuity, usually paired with a high-quality, well-calibrated screen.
How to Get a Fair Reading
The biggest variable here isn't your eyes — it's your screen. To benchmark yourself honestly:
- Set brightness to a comfortable mid-to-high level and kill any glare or reflections.
- Use the same device each time so you're comparing like with like.
- Avoid 'night mode' or blue-light filters while testing — they distort hues.
- Take a moment to let your eyes settle before starting, especially after screen time.
Can You Train Your Color Vision?
To a point, yes. Part of improving is simply learning the task: scan the grid in a sweep instead of staring at single tiles, and let your peripheral vision flag the outlier — odd colors often "pop" when you're not fixating.
